Decorated Luminareies

Decorative lighting is being used in any space that need a little added touch of something special. A unique lighting accessory can add a personal touch that helps reflect your personal style. I had a fun time looking up the quirky and unusual decorative lighting options for spaces. Here are some fabulous example that I found......

These lamps are designed by Jason Dietz and titled UFO Abduction. The lamps are made of hand crafted recycled glass tubes, diffusers, and acrylic rings. Glass tubes are occupied by ten gallons of water that create a bubbly effect. Colors pop creating a gleaming  glow on to the wall and ceiling. This would be great for a bar or  a teenagers bedroom.
Rock on with these lamps! These floors lamps have electric guitars with decorative shade on top. Music lovers would love these lamps to cause a buzz and bring their rock buddies to their space.

These pendent lights  are by Italian designer Paola PiVi. The gleaming round pendants have 80 miniature doll sized furniture items adhesived to the surface of the globe bulb. texture from the pieces memorize the walls with shadows and splashes of light. This is a very unique way of  recycling your kids old  doll furniture also. I would totally put these in my dinning area!

Lastly is this lifeguard chair that I got from Lazboy. I used as an example for themed accessories for  a workshop I helped out with. This would be great for a beach themed room or in a summer home. It is fun and whimsical for any idea for a space. When I finally get a house in the future, I will be placing this in my guest bedroom. My husband is not a fan of the lamp but, everyone has there own taste for decorative ideas.

Revamp that Lamp!

As humans we depend on light to help us understand time, read, and see task that we are doing. Lighting becomes a big part in a space when it comes to adding a intimate setting and comfortable feeling. In my class the other day, we got an assignment based on lighting in our individual spaces and how adequate the lighting is for the environment. the second part of the assignment was based on creating a revamp lamp for the environment. my juices were flowing  so much that I went on the hunt for ideas for my lamp.

The floral pattern creates a focal point to the lamps. The colors are fun and funky with a retro color palette. Creamy white creates a calming  based that will drawl you into the space.

A more simple but, elegant approach is in this lamp. It has a simple white round shade that catches the curvilinear based. the splash of monochromatic color gives a Serene beach house feeling.

Funky lava lamp bases with a lime green create a fun environment for a girls room. The  shades have a large scale pattern that helps create a focal point for you eye.

The combination with the blue and yellow satisfies adds a scheme of exciting color to any room. The transformation of this lamp surprised me. The outcome was fabulous and the pattern fit the scale of the lamp. I bought my lamp today at Salvation Army and with these inspirations, I hope I can come up with a beautiful design for my project. I will post pictures later on when I am finished. :)
